Small Family Farms
For a graphic design internship, I lived in Rome and worked at the headquarters of the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization. I worked with an economics team to develop an identity and branding for a branch of their organization.
I designed their logo, a graphic cover and template for word documents, a PowerPoint template and web media.
About 90 percent of the world’s 570 million farms are small.
Most are found in the rural areas of the developing world,
and are owned and operated by families. Many of these
smallholder family farmers are poor and food insecure and
have limited access to markets and services. Their choices
are constrained, but they farm their land and produce food
for a substantial proportion of the world’s population.
